Motor Trend, for me, has been more than just offering another warranty. It is making sure the car has been fully inspected, and is a car that somebody can buy with confidence.
Norcross, GA (PRWEB) October 01, 2013
Steve Ewing, President and CEO of Wade Ford, is featured in a new Motor Trend® Certified Vehicles driven by EasyCare® advertisement running in the August 19th issue of Automotive News. EasyCare is the leading independent provider of automotive ownership benefits.
The Motor Trend Certified program, an exclusive pre-owned vehicle certification program created for Motor Trend and driven by EasyCare, is one of many leading edge benefits from EasyCare. Participation in the program is offered only to a select group of high-performing auto dealerships.
“We were the first Motor Trend Certified dealer,” said Ewing. “Our trends are moving up, up, up, specifically our certified numbers. The Motor Trend numbers have continued to rise, and our grosses are higher on the Motor Trend vehicles. That has to do with using the tools they supplied us, telling the story to our consumer, and then showing them why a Motor Trend car is different than some other car.”
Ewing says that there are car manufacturers who have certified pre-owned programs, but they are restricted to that particular type of vehicle. “Motor Trend allows you to have the program for multiple brands, so I can now certify all brands that qualify under the program. Motor Trend, for me, has been more than just offering another warranty. It is making sure the car has been fully inspected, and is a car that somebody can buy with confidence. “
Benefits offered through the Motor Trend Certified program are typically found only with luxury purchases. The benefits include mechanical repair coverage, paintless dent removal, guaranteed key replacement, 24/7 concierge service, a 3-day or 300-mile exchange policy and a Best Value Guarantee. The program provides consumers with quality assurance and an exceptional buying experience. Because it is not make and model specific, it allows franchise dealerships to provide a highly valued certified pre-owned program for the Other Makes and Models (OMM) in their inventory.
Motor Trend Certified vehicles are thoroughly inspected, upgraded and guaranteed with a comprehensive warranty driven by EasyCare. Each dealership is carefully vetted and undergoes thorough training by EasyCare prior to certification.
“We are delighted to feature Mr. Ewing in Automotive News,” said Tina Whitelaw, Executive Vice President, Strategy and Marketing at EasyCare. “He and the team at Wade Ford share the same values that guide EasyCare, such as delivering more and providing world class service. He is committed to making the car owning experience a pleasure. Steve is an excellent example of how the Motor Trend Certified program can be used to achieve greater success.”
Steve Ewing has 30 years of experience in the automotive business. He began his career in 1983 at Apple Chevrolet in Fairlawn, NJ, as a salesman. He rose to sales manager and eventually became general manager. In 1989, Mr. Ewing opened his own car dealership in East Orange, NJ, and operated it until Ford purchased the franchise from him in 1992. He accepted a position with Ford as an Interim Operator with responsibility for managing franchises owned by the automobile company.
A year later, Mr. Ewing gave in to his entrepreneurial spirit and opened another car dealership; by 2002 he had three car dealerships. He sold the dealerships and moved to Georgia, where he purchased Wade Ford, located on South Cobb Drive in Smyrna, an Atlanta suburb. The dealership offers new, pre-owned and fleet vehicles as well as a body shop, parts and service departments.
