Fertility Expert/Scientist Dr. Heidi Cook-Andersen Joins Reproductive Partners-UC San Diego
La Jolla, CA (PRWEB) October 03, 2013 -- Reproductive endocrinologist and molecular biologist Dr. Heidi Cook-Andersen has joined the region’s top fertility team at Reproductive Partners-UC San Diego Regional Fertility Center in La Jolla. The facility, one of the leading fertility centers in the United States, specializes in advanced In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) services.
In addition to caring for her patients at Reproductive Partners, Dr. Cook-Andersen is Assistant Professor of Reproductive Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. She is also a researcher at the Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine where she is exploring ways to improve embryo quality and IVF success rates.
At UC San Diego, she has been designated a Women’s Reproductive Health Research Scholar, a prestigious position supported by the National Institutes for Health and reserved for physician-scientists whose research is focused on improving reproductive health issues in women.

Dr. Cook-Andersen earned her M.D. and Ph.D. at Yale University. While at Yale, she held a competitive position as a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Fellow and received the M.D./Ph.D. award for excellence in both clinical and research activities. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at UC San Diego.
Dr. Cook-Andersen is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and board eligible in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
