Mass Appeal, a leader in premium content development, distribution and authentic cultural experiences, today launches its premiere photographic documentary series, WATCHxWITNESS. WATCHxWITNESS combines the visual talents of infamous director, Jason Goldwatch and enigmatic photographer 13thWitness to bring viewers a documentary-style expedition through some of the world’s most harrowing and stunning locales, where the duo ventures to retrieve images meant to arrest audiences.
As part of Mass Appeal’s dynamic content portfolio, WATCHxWITNESS is a compilation of web series episodes, photography, merchandising, live gallery experiences, and original music. With the mantra #EXPLOREEVERYTHING, each segment features a new location and collection of photography, chronicling a journey of sights often left unseen, abandoned, and altogether avoided. The release of every new episode of WATCHxWITNESS features an original score by Alexander Spit, accompanied by editing and directing by Goldwatch himself. Each series will be marked by a live curated gallery opening in select markets showcasing a round-up of original art in the sequence.
"WATCHxWITNESS is a breakthrough collaboration," said Matt McRoberts, CEO, Mass Appeal. "Jason Goldwatch and 13th are re-imagining the construct of documentaries and photo journalism with pure creative adventure, exploration and instigation. Honestly, Mass Appeal is thrilled to be a partner as the content collection is unreal, and dimensionalized across iconic photography, stunning video, original music, exclusive merchandise and gallery prints."
With an already established, and constantly growing social media presence, Jason Goldwatch and 13thWitness seek to satisfy fans and keep user engagement flowing as they etch out their quest on an enormous geographical scale. From the dilapidated urban districts of Detroit to the underground lengths of NYC’s subway lines and bridges; the sprawling streets of Japan to the desolate wastes of Death Valley, there is nowhere the two won’t go to bring back compelling images putting different ways of life and culture on display.
ABOUT MASS APPEAL:
Mass Appeal was spawned from the tattooed walls and ink stained subways of a now bygone era. Founded by Patrick Elasik (1979-2005) and Adrian Moeller in 1996, what began as a graffiti zine evolved into much more; a collectible content collaboration truly by and for opinion leaders, trendsetters, risk takers and rule breakers. With a rich heritage in culture, Mass Appeal is a nod to the past while sparking and championing the next generation of creative instigators.
