Making the Leap to Adobe Creative Cloud
Universal Type Server 4 delivers brand new auto-activation plug-ins for the recently debuted Adobe Creative Cloud applications, including InDesign®, Photoshop®, Illustrator® and InCopy®. Extensis will be delivering regular plug-in updates to ensure compatibility with the continuous flow of real-time Creative Could updates. With plug-ins designed to work on both Mac and PC platforms, it doesn’t matter what operating system teams choose, Universal Type Server has them covered.
Universal Type Server 4 also includes a full array of plug-ins for previous Adobe Creative Suite™ Applications.
Enhanced Font License Management
Font license management is only effective if designers actually know what they can do with each font. Major global brands have been subjected to million dollar lawsuits from font misuse, a price that need not be paid when the proper tools are in place.
Universal Type Server 4 enables administrators to track font license information and then expose that information to members of the creative team. Creative users can easily see the details so they know how each font can be used and continue with their work.
QuickComp for Fast and Easy Font Selection
Selecting typefaces that work well together is often the first thing creative teams do when starting a new project. QuickComp makes it easy to test, experiment and select font pairs. Designers can quickly create side-by-side samples right within the Universal Type Client. Sample templates cover the most common design jobs, making it easy for teams to select fonts that work well together for headlines, body copy, captions and more.

Pricing & Availability
Universal Type Server 4 is available immediately in three versions: Lite, Professional and Enterprise. Upgrades from Universal Type Server Professional 3 to Universal Type Server Professional 4, including client upgrades, will be available free-of-charge to existing Universal Type Server Professional customers under a current annual service agreement (ASA). Universal Type Server Lite has an estimated retail price from US $1395, with an upgrade price from $698 US.

Universal Type Server is available in English, French, German, Spanish and Italian.
