PDC Healthcare to Debut New Narrow and Condensed Securline® Bar Code Blood Band Styles at the AABB Annual Meeting & CTTXPO 2013
Valencia, CA (PRWEB) October 01, 2013 -- PDC Healthcare, the global leader of innovative identification solutions, will exhibit its expanded Securline® Bar Code Blood Band line at the AABB Annual Meeting & CTTXPO 2013 from Oct. 12 to 15 in Denver, CO. Securline® provides automated patient ID for blood transfusion, specimen collection, and tracking to improve patient safety and workflow efficiencies.
The entire Securline® Bar Code Blood Band collection will be on display, including three new condensed formats with a narrower width that make them ideal for pediatric and adult patients. The condensed style wristbands allow lab technicians to write patient identification information directly on the wristband and then apply a laminate shield to protect the information. The wristbands feature a permanent, unique alphanumeric bar code, plus matching alphanumeric bar code labels that can be applied to additional draw tubes, patient charts, transfusion requisitions, and as a secondary label on IV blood bags. Securline® meets the Joint Commission’s National Patient Safety Goal for blood transfusions, NPSG.01.03.01, Elements of Performance (EP), for a one-person verification process (versus two-person verification). It also meets requirements of HIPAA for the protection of patient privacy, and the AHA to reduce the risk of lost or transferred data.
“PDC Healthcare is pleased to offer our customers Securline®, which is the most comprehensive line of blood recipient ID solutions offered for blood banks in the healthcare marketplace,” said D’Albert Benoit, Director of Patient ID Solutions & Global ID Initiatives for PDC Healthcare. “Bar code blood bands help labs and hospitals minimize human verification errors while improving workflow efficiency for caregivers to allow them to spend more time on patient care.
AABB attendees who visit PDC Healthcare in booth #523 will have the opportunity to play the Securline® Bar Code Blood Band Matching Game for a chance to instantly win an iPad Mini. To enter, booth visitors must present their pre-mailed Securline® Bar Code Blood Band to a PDC Healthcare representative who will then scan the blood band with the official bar code reader to determine if it is the instant winner.
In addition to Securline®, PDC Healthcare will also exhibit its other blood bank product offerings including the Ident-A™ Blood Recipient System, the Conf-ID-ent™ Bar Code Blood Card System, and the Securlink® Blood Recipient System. Preprinted and blank fluorescent MedVision® labels, LIS Labels, and blood bag labels compliant with ISBT-128 standards will also be on display.
