Jazz Vocalist Coniece Washington Sings the Great American Songbook
Crofton, MD (PRWEB) October 01, 2013 -- Jazz vocalist Coniece Washington makes her debut appearance with The Ashleigh Group’s “Thursdays at the Blue” series at the Blue Dolphin, on October 3, 2013. The Blue Dolphin is located at 1166 State Route 3 South, in Gambrills, MD 21054. Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and the show begins at 8:00 p.m. sharp. Washington focuses on favorites from the Great American Songbook. The New Jersey native got her start signing in her grandmother's church, and was inspired by gospel artists, along with jazz greats like Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Nancy Wilson and Billie Holiday in developing her own style. As a young adult, she served in the Army and performed at nightclubs and bars both here and abroad. With her distinctive, sultry sweet voice, Washington now regularly appears at the top clubs in the D.C. area.
