Revstream Announces Appointment of Jeff Tchir to Advisory Board
Redwood City, CA (PRWEB) October 03, 2013 -- Revstream, Inc. is extremely pleased to announce the addition of Jeff Tchir, current Director of Revenue Accounting at Silver Spring Networks and founder of RevRec.Net, to its advisory board. In this role, Jeff will help guide Revstream’s path as it continues its growth with his deep knowledge of technical accounting in Revenue Recognition combined with his insights gained from real world experience.
”Revenue Recognition rules have evolved over recent years and will continue to evolve such that recognition is more and more disjointed from the invoicing event,” stated Jeff at a recent conference discussion he was leading. “Recognizing that there exists a separate Contract-To-Recognition cycle distinct from one’s Order-To-Cash process while implementing a comprehensive and reliable system to track and release recognition triggers is key to properly managing what is the biggest number on your P&L. Any system must be properly married with the particular technical revenue accounting positions adopted by companies and my joining Revstream is a great way for me to contribute to such a marriage in this period of changing standards.”
Jeff has had an extensive career in accounting and revenue recognition, including client serving positions at Ernst & Young and Deloitte earlier in his career, along with holding various positions within the controllership functions of both NetApp and Silicon Graphics. He now supports the sales and legal teams at Silver Spring Networks in strategic deal structuring and is responsible for the determination of and compliance with technical accounting policy with respect to revenue recognition.
“It is his expertise in the industry and his passion for revenue recognition solutions that he brings to Revstream to help us continue to dominate the revenue lifecycle management industry,” said Rajiv Chopra, CEO of Revstream Inc.
Jeff has already lent his talents to Revstream’s Revenue Recognition Roundtable Events in June and August of 2013, held in Redwood City, CA. His knowledge of the changes to US GAAP as proposed by the FASB and IASB was on full display for industry insiders hoping to gain awareness of the new standards while earning CPE credits, and he’ll be joining the Stream Team in Atlanta, GA on October 23 to share his expertise with the East Coast.
Jeff will be joining Revstream’s other valued advisory board members Ed Sullivan, founder of Aria Systems and CEO at G2Link, and Tina Steil, former CTO of Meredith Publishing. Together, this diverse team will bring continued focus to customer success at Revstream.
