CDPHP Honored for Advancement of Women in the WERCplace
Albany, NY (PRWEB) October 01, 2013 -- CDPHP is being recognized with the Advancement of Women in the WERCplace Award, honored for its longstanding commitment to helping women achieve financial independence and success. The award was presented to CDPHP at the Capital District Women’s Employment and Resource Center’s (WERC) 25th Anniversary Awards Luncheon.
“CDPHP is humbled and honored to be selected for this prestigious award,” said Barb Downs, chief operating officer, CDPHP. “We understand the importance of empowering women in the workplace, and are proud of the programs and initiatives created to help women reach their fullest potential.”
More than 70 percent of employees at CDPHP are female (57% of leadership team are women), and represent diverse cultural, educational and professional backgrounds. In addition to giving women the opportunity to grow professionally, CDPHP also encourages women to take care of their personal health and well-being, offering flexible work schedules, an onsite fitness center, as well as a variety of work-site wellness programs and health screenings.

Ann Myers, associate professor at The Sage Colleges, received the Harriet Rifkin Leadership Award in recognition of her leadership, volunteerism, professionalism, and her work in creating opportunities for women to achieve personal and financial independence.
Joella Viscusi, president, Ambient Environmental, Inc., received the WERCing Woman of Achievement Award. This award is presented to a woman whose career path has been filled with unique transitions, unexpected challenges, opportunities to take risks, and who serves as an excellent role model for women served by WERC.
WERC alumna, Lori MacPherson, office manager at Davis Vision, Inc., received the WERC Silver Star Award. This award is presented to a WERC Graduate who embodies the core values of WERC and has clearly demonstrated a strong work ethic.
