“Every child deserves to go to school free of fear. By helping train staff on how to deal with and prevent bullying, we hope to make a significant difference in the lives of students,” said Brian Taylor, president and CEO of Scenario Learning.

In honor of National Bullying Prevention Month, Scenario Learning, developer of safety and compliance solutions for schools and workplaces, announces that a number of its bullying prevention resources are available at no charge for every school during October and November. The resources include an expert-authored cyberbullying course for educators and an informational public service announcement (PSA) video for students.

Bullying is at dangerous levels in the U.S. and around the world. According to 2013 Bureau of Justice Statistics, one in three teens report being bullied, and one in two students report being cyberbullied. Additionally, according to a Yale University report published in the International Journal of Adolescent Medicine and Health, bullying victims are two to nine times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims, and sadly, many decide to act every year.

“Every child deserves to go to school free of fear. By helping train staff on how to deal with and prevent bullying, we hope to make a significant difference in the lives of students,” said Brian Taylor, president and CEO of Scenario Learning. “We’re proud to offer our bullying prevention resources to schools around the world at a time when they need it most.”

The free cyberbullying course is an informative tool to educate school staff on cyberbullying prevention and which actions to take when a cyberbullying case occurs. The comprehensive course exposes the many ways in which students exploit technology in order to harm others, the three criteria that constitute bullying, Acceptable Use Policies and cyberbullying, and legal limitations faced by schools in disciplining cyberbullies.

In addition to the cyberbullying course, Scenario Learning’s short, informational PSA “What is Bullying?” can be used with students to explain what represents bullying and what students should do if they are being bullied.
