CogniVue Enhancing Its Embedded Vision Processor Offering
Boston (PRWEB) October 02, 2013 -- CogniVue Corporation announced today that it is also providing embedded vision software IP to complement its industry leading APEX image cognition processor (ICP) core technology. Freescale® Semiconductor and CogniVue are strengthening their collaboration in automotive vision processing with Freescale licensing CogniVue’s vision aware software tools and vision algorithm toolkits.
"Through its collaboration with Freescale and hands on experience with its customers, CogniVue has realized that many customers who are developing for vision applications commonly need two important software products: 1) a tool to efficiently pipeline complex vision algorithms and, 2) tool kits to enable rapid integration of new vision features,” said Simon Morris, CEO of CogniVue. CogniVue’s innovation in middleware software and tool kits contributes to the 100x advantage that our customers enjoy compared to using conventional processor cores.”
“Freescale recognized the need for a programmable image cognition processor core, but also recognized early the need for complementary image processing software and tools in order to offer its customer’s a superior solution for the automotive driver assistance systems,” said Ray Cornyn, Vice President of Product Management for Freescale’s Automotive Microcontroller Group. “Our customers need the ability to differentiate and reduce development time and cost while maintaining automotive quality and ensuring safety. Freescale is pleased to be strengthening its collaboration with CogniVue to address the growing demands of automotive vision processing.” CogniVue will be presenting and demonstrating at Embedded Vision Summit on Oct 2nd in Boston MA and at the upcoming ITS World Congress in Tokyo, Oct 14-18, 2013.
