Cross Country Home Services Honored for Helping Veterans
Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (PRWEB) October 02, 2013 -- Cross Country Home Services, Inc. (CCHS), one of the country's leading providers of home warranty products and maintenance plans, was honored at the 5th Annual 2013 Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards ceremony on Sept. 30 in San Francisco, Calif. CCHS won the coveted Gold award in the ‘Company of the Year in the Corporate Social Responsibility’ category for its Operation Appliance Aid: Keeping Things Running Smoothly For Our Veterans campaign. The Golden Bridge Awards were created to generate industry-wide recognition of the achievements and positive contributions of organizations and businesses worldwide in every area.
Through Operation Appliance Aid, CCHS has donated more than 30 appliances and helped 14 deserving families around the country. Recognizing the struggles that many veterans face as a result of the disruption caused by active duty or by an injury or disability, CCHS launched the program in 2012 to provide new appliances and major home systems to veterans and military service families in need. The company believes that providing a tangible gift in the form of a new major appliance or home system brings an immediate sense of relief and improves their everyday lives.
“We wanted to make a meaningful difference in the lives of veterans and their families, who have sacrificed so much for our country,” said CCHS President Sandra Finn. “These gifts of appliances can help bring them peace of mind at home.”
For Operation Appliance Aid, CCHS leveraged its partnerships with a large network of independent service providers and major appliance manufacturers, and formed partnerships with community organizations such as United Way of Broward County, Rebuilding Together Broward County, Anderson Interfaith Ministries (AIM) and The Senior Source in Dallas, Texas, to identify veterans in need. Donations are typically timed to major military holidays, and in just one year, CCHS has donated more than 30 appliances and helped 14 deserving families around the country. Operation Appliance Aid has also been recognized in 2013 with the Communitas Award in the category of “Making a Difference” and with a Silver Stevie Award for CSR Program of the Year.
Finn was also honored as a Bronze winner in the Golden Bridge’s Women Executive of the Year category. Finn joined CCHS in 1999, and moved quickly from Executive Vice President to President. She oversees more than 600 employees in the company’s Fort Lauderdale, Fla., headquarters and in CCHS’ Anderson, S.C., customer care facility that operates 24 hours, 365 days a year. Under Finn’s leadership, CCHS has earned double-digit revenue growth and increased its employee base significantly. She has focused the company’s attention on delivering a top-notch customer experience across every point of contact within the company; united a diverse employee base behind the company’s customer service-focused mission; and has been repeatedly recognized as Florida’s top five most prominent female executives by The Commonwealth Institute.
