SAI Global Compliance Customer, HealthPlus of Michigan, Receives 2013 GRC Value Award for Investigations Management
Plainsboro, N.J. (PRWEB) October 02, 2013 -- SAI Global Compliance, a leading provider of governance, risk and compliance (GRC) products, services and technology, today announced that its customer, HealthPlus of Michigan, has received the 2013 GRC Value Award in the category of Investigations Management. The inaugural awards, given by analyst firm GRC 20/20, recognize real-world implementations of GRC programs that have returned significant and measurable value to organizations. SAI Global Compliance and HealthPlus were selected due to the innovative and highly successful incident management project they completed together.
As an organization that provides health plans for employers, families and individuals, HealthPlus faces a unique set of compliance challenges. Because it participates in Medicare and Medicaid programs, it must act as a payer, funding services provided to health plan members. Compliance gaps or breaches could result in sanctions, fines, withholding of payments or termination of program participation. To proactively mitigate these potential risks, HealthPlus began using SAI Global’s Compliance 360 GRC system to manage and track its 4,000+ cases and ensure rapid response and resolution. With Compliance 360, HealthPlus reduced the average days to complete case investigations by 56 percent – from nine days to four days.
“With the use of Compliance 360 and progressive-thinking from its implementation team, HealthPlus has demonstrated proven business value with its GRC program,” said Michael Rasmussen, Chief GRC Pundit, GRC 20/20. “It’s imperative that we recognize successes, like the work that SAI Global and HealthPlus achieved together, as a milestone toward advancing GRC maturity.”

“We are very proud of the transformation and measured improvements we’ve achieved in incident management,” said Julie Wing, Compliance and Investigation Specialist, HealthPlus of Michigan. “With Compliance 360, our incident management processes are greatly streamlined. In fact, even with an 8 percent increase in case volume, the implementation, including all user training and the conversion of old cases, was completed two months ahead of schedule. We now have in place the systems and processes needed to mitigate the risks that can emanate from incidents and investigations.”
“HealthPlus of Michigan’s compliance team rapidly transformed its GRC program into a highly responsive and innovative program, facilitated by the Compliance 360 system,” said Steve McGraw, GRC President, SAI Global Compliance. “The positive results of this project have set an example to be admired in the GRC industry. It is an honor to work with HealthPlus and to be recognized by GRC 20/20 for these accomplishments.”
