Super Cruiser Bicycle Ride Benefiting Make-A-Wish® Nebraska Disembarks This Month
Omaha, Nebraska (PRWEB) October 03, 2013 -- On October 19, 2013, the first-ever Super Cruiser Bicycle Ride will take flight beginning and ending at Omaha’s Midtown Crossing. The Ride will provide a fun, non-competitive, non-profit bicycle cruise through midtown Omaha to benefit Make-A-Wish® Nebraska and will end with a “Hero Bash” post-party in Turner Park.
Sponsored by Wohlner’s at Midtown Crossing and New Belgium Brewing, the Super Cruiser Ride is a superhero-themed bicycle ride where participants are strongly encouraged to shed their secret identity and dress as their favorite superhero for a short 11-mile ride to explore the local neighborhoods, shops, and parks along the route.
Beginning at Midtown Crossing, the ride takes its superheroes on an adventure through the historic Bemis neighborhood, up through Country Club to Benson, cruising over to Dundee, and heading back to the Superman-sized celebration at Midtown Crossing via the Leavenworth district and historic Field Club neighborhoods.
“Sponsors of the event hope everyone takes the time to participate in this fun and community-oriented bicycle ride as a way to celebrate the eclectic blend and rich heritage of Midtown Omaha,” said Mike Schwartz, owner of Wohlner’s Grocery and Deli – Midtown Crossing.
“Ultimately, the Super Cruiser Ride will provide an afternoon of fun, bicycle riding and a chance to be the superhero you always wanted to be, while at the same time helping to grant a special wish for a child through Make-A-Wish Nebraska.”
Super Cruisers will be treated to prizes, live music, and craft beer worthy of even the most super of heroes. Route support, water, and medical assistance will be available throughout the ride.
