Intelliroof: Leading the Home Energy Efficiency Revolution from the Top Down
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) October 07, 2013 -- A Cool Roof is an innovative technology that can reduce a household's energy bills, carbon emissions, and help create a more comfortable home. Intelliroof, a company driven to lead Americans to achieve a more energy-efficient future, is now helping homeowners retrofit existing residences with Cool Roofs in the major markets where customers can experience the most compelling return on their investment- Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Phoenix, Tampa, Jacksonville, Orlando and Miami.
Cool Roofs were created through a partnership between scientists at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs (LBNL) and several roofing manufacturers. They developed roofs that reflect more of the sun’s infared energy, so roofs stay considerably cooler, allowing for a building to use less energy for air conditioners. This compelling technology facilitates lower energy bills — and smaller carbon footprints.
Intelliroof’s Technology Director, Dr. Hashem Akbari, helped lead Cool Roof development at LBNL. He remarked that, “Residential adoption to date has significantly trailed the commercial market in terms of cool roof retrofits. The next important step is to empower everyday residential use in homes throughout the country. I’m proud to help Intelliroof bring this exciting new technology to the residential market, and excited to work with such an innovative market leader.”
Through its certified Cool Roof Network of local contractors, and well as its channel partners, Intelliroof aims to facilitate a revolution in how Americans spend less, use less, and waste less when cooling their houses. By the end of 2015, Intelliroof aims to facilitate over 20,000 retrofits of existing American buildings, resulting in savings of more than $20 million in annual energy spend, and a reduction of over 30 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions stemming from this increased energy efficiency.
“The commercial market has embraced many of the advances in energy-efficient technology that the residential market has yet to,” said Intelliroof CEO and Founder, Josh Kammerer. “We at Intelliroof are looking forward to working with people throughout industry, finance, local governments and utilities to promote the coming energy-efficient revolution in the residential roofing industry. There is massive opportunity — for Intelliroof, the roofing industry, contractors, lenders, communities, and property owners and occupants. Thanks to innovators and an energetic group of leaders promoting energy efficiency, Americans are able live in a more efficient manner, and we aim to lead the way by introducing leading-edge technology to early residential adopters. We’re looking forward to doing our part to move America to a more energy-efficient, sustainable future.”
