Portland Region’s Leading Broker Course on Green Building Offered Again
Portland, Oregon (PRWEB) October 03, 2013 -- The Earth Advantage Broker course provides real estate professionals with valuable knowledge about the way green buildings are made or remodeled, the unique assets they contain and the marketing advantage they provide. Several studies have been conducted across the country that indicate green, or high performance homes, sell faster and at higher premiums. The latest of the those studies “The Value of Green Labels in the California Housing Market” conducted at UCLA and UC Berkeley in California suggested green-labeled homes sell at a 9% premium.
To date Earth Advantage has trained 1,321 real estate professionals in 20 cities and 5 states across the U.S. The two-day class (formerly known as S.T.A.R.) is taught by the nationally recognized real estate professional Taylor Watkins, and offers a combination of in-classroom training and hands-on learning through green home site visits. Earth Advantage Broker has been approved for 12 continuing education credits by the Oregon Real Estate Board and the Washington Real Estate Commission. Completion of the course, including passing the final exam, results in formal accreditation from Earth Advantage.
Jenifer Jepson of The Hasson Company said of Earth Advantage Broker, “[A] wonderful and pertinent class! The Earth Advantage Broker program is an indispensable tool for Realtors to professionally represent the new trends in building and design, and is invaluable in helping us to educate our clients on the durability, safety, and cost effectiveness of green products, practices, and homes."
