Young America, one of the largest engagement marketing agencies in the country, announced today that Joe Custer, President and CFO, is no longer with Young America effective immediately. The Board of Directors has appointed Mr. Christopher R. Behrens, who has been serving as Chairman of the Board for Young America, as interim President and CEO. Mr. Behrens will join the Young America team effective October 2, 2013 as the business works through the transition of appointing a permanent President and CEO. Mr. Behrens stated, “We thank Joe for his contributions to the business and years of service, and wish him well in his new endeavors.”
In addition to his Chairman role at Young America, Mr. Behrens works with the Baird Capital Partners investment team to execute investment strategies, and source potential transactions to build digital marketing services companies. Prior to Baird Capital Partners, Mr. Behrens was President and CEO of SourceLink, LLC where he turned-around and grew the business by executing a client-centric growth strategy resulting in SourceLink becoming North America’s 4th largest privately held marketing services company. Prior to SourceLink, Mr. Behrens was President and CEO of ETrac, a technology (SaaS) services business, and held various positions at GE Financial Assurance, including Senior Vice President Sales and Client Marketing. Mr. Behrens began his career at OAG, a global publisher of airline and hotel information.
Going forward, Young America will continue to invest in the high-growth areas of its business, including data services; sweeps, games, contests; and newly launched solution: Sample 2.0—a patent pending technology that lets brands create in-store product sampling experiences using SKU-restricted, prepaid cards and codes.
