Quick quiz: What is the No. 1 cause of apartment fires? Cigarettes? Unattended candles? Children playing with matches? Nope, it’s plain old cooking fires, according to the National Fire Prevention Association (http://www.nfpa.org/safety-information/for-consumers/causes/cooking). These facts and instructions for avoiding and extinguishing kitchen fires are included in a blog posted by Andover Management Group, LLC, for residents of the Beaumont Farms Apartment community, in south Lexington: http://www.andovermgt.com/latest-news/beaumont-farms-news/.
A recent change in Beaumont Farms’ website design offers improved navigation to facilitate residents’ use of the blog as a resource for information about local events as well as topics relating to green living and home safety.
“We’ve posted blogs on our website, http://www.andovermgt.com/beaumont-farms, for some time,” said Michael Gale, Regional Property Manager, “but a recent site redesign has made them more easily accessible. Comments from residents show that they are visiting the website more frequently and that they enjoy the wide variety of topics presented.”
Beaumont Farms families can read about subjects ranging from personal safety (how to deal with tick bites) and decorating (choosing a paint color) to the dress code at Keeneland Race Course. In addition, Andover uses the blog to educate residents about subjects of particular importance to apartment dwellers, such as the necessity of purchasing renter’s insurance and how to maximize storage space.
Lexington firm Fusioncorp Design Creative Solutions is responsible for the website designs of Andover’s many properties. “They’ve been very responsive to our needs,” said Mr. Gale. “We wanted our residents to have easy access to these blog posts, which we think are both entertaining and helpful, and now they just have to click once.”
Other properties managed by Andover which communicate with residents through blog posts are Lakewood Park Luxury Apartments and Beaumont Townhomes in Lexington, Kentucky, and Columns in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
