The funds year-to-date is almost a quarter a day’s expense to run the hospital.
Thanks to the planning of event organizers, Randy and Jackie LeCompte of New Iberia, attendees will experience non-stop entertainment and surprises in the form of musical acts and dancing. All net proceeds from the event will directly benefit the children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN. Organizers hope to raise nearly $70,000, which will positively impact the lives of the children served by St. Jude by providing them with cancer treatments services regardless of the family’s inability to pay.
About Danielle’s Rhythm & Blues Dance and Auction
Katherine Danielle LeCompte, daughter of Randy and Jackie LeCompte of New Iberia, is a bright, funny, lively, exuberant 13 year-old girl who was diagnosed with an inoperable brain-stem tumor in February 2009. Few choice hospitals only offered to monitor Danielle’s tumor due to its location, however, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital wanted Danielle in the next week to begin tests and to perform a biopsy. St. Jude would become their home for the next four months. She completed six weeks of radiation, totaling 31 treatments. Over the past four years, Danielle has had a checkup every three months since her treatment and there has been no growth. St. Jude’s was the best decision Randy and Jackie LeCompte could have made for their daughter. Danielle’s Rhythm & Blues Dance and Auction is a way for Danielle, her parents, and family to say “Thank You” and give back to St. Jude.
