eCustoms Helps Businesses with USITC and Schedule B Info Access Amid Government Shutdown
New York, New York (PRWEB) October 04, 2013 -- eCustoms is providing international trade compliance professionals with free access to its HTSUS and Schedule B information because of the U.S. Government shutdown that has abruptly taken the key USITC and Census websites offline and unavailable to the public.
The USITC (United States International Trade Commission) helps businesses with Harmonized Tariff codes for import clearance, while Census provides exporters with Schedule B codes for their Shipper's Export Declaration.
"The shutdown is unprecedented in the history of the United States," said eCustoms Vice President Marc Roy. "But in this situation businesses still need to comply with the laws and regulations. Our gesture is simply aimed at giving a helping hand for the duration of the shutdown."
eCustoms is a leading provider of international trade compliance solutions for over 30 years and is well known to the import and export compliance community.
Roy said that eCustoms started receiving calls for help a few days ago. "Internally the decision was made to provide assistance. The idea was that because we have a long history in this industry we wanted to contribute back to the industry.
So far dozens of companies are being assisted and that number is growing.
