Centrillion Biosciences and HYSTA Announce Collaboration On Technology Entrepreneurship Genomics Study
Palo Alto, CA (PRWEB) October 04, 2013 -- Scientists have long suspected that entrepreneurs' DNA may influence their entrepreneurial tendencies. Entrepreneurship is a major driving force in our economy, leading to the creation of new jobs, new industries and furthering the development of existing industries. Considerable research has been conducted in economics, psychology, management, and other fields of social science analyzing the characteristics of entrepreneurs. It has been shown that people with a predisposition to sensation-seeking are more likely to be entrepreneurs; sociability, risk-taking, and aggression have all been related to entrepreneurship as well. In addition, studies show that there is a higher rate of ADHD among entrepreneurs than non-entrepreneurs. Recent research suggests entrepreneurship traits may have a connection with DNA, but results are inconclusive and the role of DNA in starting companies, particularly technology companies, has not been well defined. Furthermore, research focusing on the genetic basis of entrepreneurship is primarily being undertaken with European-focused cohorts, despite the fact that entrepreneurship is not dominated by any ethnic group. This collaboration between Centrillion Biosciences and HYSTA hopes to expand the base of knowledge on entrepreneur genomics by studying aspiring technology entrepreneurs and serial entrepreneurs primarily in the Silicon Valley of Asia-Pacific background.
“Centrillion Biosciences is privileged to have the expertise to conduct this study,” said Robert Feldman, VP of Business Development at Centrillion Biosciences, “Furthermore, we are Silicon Valley entrepreneurs ourselves and are excited to learn more about the link between DNA and entrepreneurs.”
“HYSTA is eager to do this joint study with Centrillion Biosciences” stated HYSTA Executive Director Jay Chen, “Through this effort, we hope to empower the next generation of entrepreneurs by understanding ourselves on a deeper level.”
At HYSTA’s annual conference on October 5, 2013, we will be recruiting attendees to participate in the entrepreneurship genomics study. Anyone else interested in participating are encouraged to register and complete our survey at http://www.tribecode.com/entrepreneur. Those chosen to participate in the study will receive their entrepreneur DNA results for free.
