Demetria Smith, Houston City Council Candidate District D Announces First Press Conference
(PRWEB) October 04, 2013 -- Demetria Smith is an experienced business owner who has been working with people for more than 10 years. It is her purpose to assist in empowering individuals towards economic independence through financial literacy, preparation and education. Smith, Democrat for City Council District D invites all local Houston media outlets and her municipality--- to meet and discuss the issues facing District D on Tuesday, October 8, 2013, Sunnyside Police Substation, 3511 Reed Rd., Houston, TX, 77051 at 10:00 am – Noon. http://demetriasmithcampaign.nationbuilder.com/
Smith’s empathy for her constituents in District D comes from her own personal experiences with hardship and destitution. Poverty is a big issue in District D so she developed an Anti-Poverty Coalition to help secure the needs of families. It is the duty of the Coalition to educate communities on how to deal with poverty from a psychological and socioeconomic stand-point. Smith knows what it takes to fuel her community by developing constituents to become high income producers. The constituents will be set on a path to be skillfully trained and prepared to gain buying power. In return, this will lead to more finances being pumped back into District D thereby attracting local commercial investors to revitalize the community. http://demetriasmithcampaign.nationbuilder.com/
Smith believes every individual should be treated with honor despite their financial circumstances. There will be no more leaving District D behind. Her programs develop entrepreneurship, homeownership and reduce crime.
Impassionate leaders have played on the emotions of individuals from District D for far too long. Smith will provide them with leadership by setting the example. She will lead them towards financial empowerment and help to stabilize families. Smith feels that our children cannot be left out of this process. Their needs must be heard, recognized and validated. Smith believes the youth of District D not only need to be educated but also inspired. http://demetriasmithcampaign.nationbuilder.com/
In addition to her political aspirations, Demetria Smith is currently a financial radio talk show host for KWWJ 1360 AM and a Texas Woman Ambassador. She is also a recognized Houston playwright and stage producer.
Smith will bring her vast expertise, knowledge and proven leadership skills to District D. She is honored to meet her community face to face on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at the Sunnyside Police Substation. http://demetriasmithcampaign.nationbuilder.com/
