Ever wanted to be a detective and find a murderer – without the danger involved? How about going back to the Wild West and meeting Harry High-Stakes, the owner of the Deadwood Saloon? Or maybe you just want a chance to win a vacation package worth $1,200!

The Kern River Valley is known for river rafting, giant Sequoias, mountain biking, fishing, hunting, and bird watching –and now it is the home of the 1st annual Western murder mystery weekend series!

The Kern Lodge, a family owned motel located in the heart of the mountain community of Kernville, is hosting the 1st annual mystery murder weekend series, during Nov. 8th-10th, 2013, Jan.10th-12th, 2014, Jan.17th-19th, 2014 and Mar. 7th-9th, 2014. The Kern Lodge, along with most of the local merchants, invite you to discover who murdered the winner of the Poker tournament and why. The course of the weekend starts with beer, pizza and introductions on Friday night; through Saturday morning when we discover the death of the Poker player; to the dinner party Saturday night at the Deadwood Saloon with Harry High-Stakes; and finally to the breakfast Sunday morning, where the awards are given out and the murderer revealed! The weekend is sure to please the super-sleuth in everyone, whether you participate a little or a lot! Come have fun discovering clues while enjoying the town of Kernville!
