Focal Acne Scar Treatment (F.A.S.T.) Offers Hope to Patients with Acne Scars
New York, NY (PRWEB) October 09, 2013 -- New hope for acne scar sufferers comes with the release of a research study published in the October 2013 issue of Journal of Drugs in Dermatology (JDD). A manuscript in the recent issue of JDD details findings about acne scar patients treated with a new innovative technique called Focal Acne Scar Treatment or “F.A.S.T.” The purpose of the article was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of this new procedure.
In the research study, the developer of F.A.S.T., Dr. Eric Schweiger, (http://www.nyccosmeticdermatology.com), a board certified dermatologist, documents the finding of a series of patients who underwent F.A.S.T treatment. F.A.S.T., which utilizes fractional CO2 laser surgery, uses high energy levels and only targets focal areas of acne scarring, leaving surrounding normal skin intact. The finding of the study suggests increased effectiveness and reduced healing time with no increased incidence of permanent adverse events. “This is very exciting news for acne scar patients,” says Dr. Schweiger. “I am thrilled to be able to offer an alternative to patients who are not able to commit to the downtime typically associated with fractional CO2 laser treatments, but are still looking for outstanding results.”
Dr. Schweiger developed F.A.S.T. to help treat the numerous patients in his NYC practice suffering from acne scars. This study released in JDD gives insight into the details and expected results of the treatment. Dr. Schweiger’s practice is focused primarily on the treatment of acne and acne scars, and in 2012, he founded Clear Clinic (http://www.clearclinic.com), the world’s first dedicated Acne Treatment Center. In response to the growing popularity of the F.A.S.T. procedure, in early 2013, Clear Clinic launched “Fly in for Clear Skin”(http://www.flyinforclearskin.com), a program which lets patients from all over the country and the world travel to New York City for F.A.S.T. treatment by Dr. Schweiger.
