Recruitment Man on a mission to make a difference
Birmingham, West Midlands (PRWEB UK) 8 October 2013 -- A recruitment consultant from Birmingham puts his body through hell and high water to raise money for The British Heart Foundation.
On a normal day, Tim Allsop is a recruitment consultant for Midlands based teaching supply agency Aspire People, in which he helps local people find primary teaching jobs.
Earlier this year, Tim joined over 7,000 people in the 2013 Great Midlands Fun Run through Sutton Coldfield park. He ran 8.5 miles in 1 hour and 29 minutes, raising £450 for Macmillan.
In his next mission, on 12th October, Tim will be pushing his boundaries even further by running the Rock Solid Race in Milton Keynes to raise even more money, this time for The British Heart Foundation.
If the name isn’t scary enough, Tim will have to run a 10k race, full of 8ft high brick walls, lakes, ponds and plenty of mud.
Tim will be racing with his training club Velocity, who have already managed to raise £650 as a team. In preparation for the event Tim has been training 6 days a week with Velocity Training Club.
Tim said: “I am really pleased that we are raising money for The British Heart Foundation. My dad’s side of the family have had heart problems so it’s a cause that means a lot to me and my family. I know that the money we raise will help some of the incredible projects the charity is currently funding in the local area.
“Coronary heart disease is the UK’s single biggest killer. It makes me feel proud that my efforts will help fund projects in local universities to study new treatments and find new ways for the body to naturally protect itself from disease.”
