AlertSystems Comment on Release of CCTV Following Alleged Armed Robbery at a Petrol Station
(PRWEB UK) 9 October 2013 -- The Telegraph reports on October 2 in the article titled ‘CCTV of Petrol Station Gun Robbery’ that an armed robbery allegedly occurred as a cash-in-transit guard was leaving the Spar store at a petrol station in Illminster. The released CCTV footage shows the cash-in-transit guard reaching the door of the store where he is met by an individual wearing a balaclava and holding a gun, before surrendering the box of money he is carrying. The Telegraph reports that it is believed that the gunman then left the scene with an accomplice in a white Ford Fiesta.
Avon and Somerset police have released footage of the incident, which occurred at approximately 11:30am on September 23, in an appeal for information.
DC Andy Tearle from Avon and Somerset police told the Telegraph that:
“This robbery only took a few seconds to commit but the impact this will have on the courier, shop staff and witnesses will stay with them for much longer.”
AlertSystems, who are experts in business security systems, understand the importance of installing CCTV systems on the premises of a business. A spokesperson for the company shared their thoughts:
“An armed robbery can be a frightening experience for those involved or those who witness the event. A crime such as this can take a matter of moments, and so the installation of a CCTV security system can be vital to police in identifying the course of events. Police can also release the footage in an appeal for more information to help further their enquiries and bring their investigations to a successful conclusion.”
