The Orthopaedic Implant Company Releases High Value Anatomic Locking Distal Radius Plates
Reno, Nev. (PRWEB) October 07, 2013 -- The Orthopaedic Implant Company (“OIC”) launched the second installment in its anatomic locking plate series: The OIC Distal Radius Plate. The plate leverages the same locking and cortical screw design of The OIC clavicle plates, promoting efficiency and reversing the trend of over-engineering in the space. Plates are anatomic and come in a variety of sizes to meet virtually all fracture patterns and physiologies.
The system provides lag screw fixation for comminuted patterns, non-locking screws to obtain compression across simple patterns and locking fixation in osteopenic bone and multi-fragmentary fracture patterns.
“Distal radius fractures are becoming one of the most common injuries treated with internal fixation,” states Dr. Peter Althausen, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Chairman of OIC. “With the growing economic pressures placed on healthcare it is imperative that we use a high quality, cost effective device which can address many of the common fracture patterns. The OIC distal radius plate is the solution.” The OIC Anatomic Locking Plate and Screw Line will continually expand over the next year.
