Web Proxy HTTPS Comes up Fastest in Proxy Speed Tests
Dallas, Texas (PRWEB) October 08, 2013 -- idcloak Technologies launches its web proxy HTTPS for internet users who require fast and secure access to the internet from an alternate location. Performance tests taken alongside other free proxy services placed idcloak faster than its competition by up to 2.5 times.
Web proxies are commonly used for bypassing censorship, securely accessing websites over public WiFi connections and private browsing. The increase in media-heavy content which proxies are needed for nowadays has led to growing demands in proxy performance. idcloak says this has sidelined many of the smaller proxy providers.
“The free proxy landscape is currently populated by two main categories of provider,” says idcloak’s senior researcher Robin Welles. “First, there are the proxy administrators who use their service as an advertising platform – they convert hits to profit by selling advertising space on the proxy webpage."
“The other kind of free proxy providers are those, like us, who genuinely believe that the internet should be free of censorship, privacy invasions and geographical discrimination. No prizes for guessing which group of providers has best coped with the recent increase in bandwidth demands.”
Welles puts the high speed of the web proxy HTTPS down to two main factors: investment and strategy. “First we needed to space servers around the globe so we could evenly distribute traffic and computational load. But the host countries also needed to provide practical function in terms of unblocking, for accessing georestricted YouTube video and the like. With all this in mind, we chose Japan, the US and the UK. Two more – in Australia and Germany – are coming soon. Most of our competition offers just one server in one country.”
Another major contributor to the speed of our proxy was the careful programming and the research into the data centers, “We went through a period streamlining the code and then made sure to choose quality hosting providers whom we believed would deliver on their promises. The results are self-evident.”
idcloak Technologies will follow the release of their HTTPS web proxy with a software-based privacy system designed to facilitate high-level security and anonymity through a global network of servers. See idcloak’s VPN servic e pages for more information.
