In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, James Benham began writing code at the age of 11 and by 14 had developed his first software application. Three years later, he co-managed an ISP, providing dial-up Internet to over 4,000 users. In 2001, James founded JB Knowledge Technologies, Inc., an information technology services provider and makers of the SmartBidNet construction bid software.
With extensive experience in consulting and systems development, James’ has an ability to share a depth of technical knowledge in a down-to-earth, engaging manner and has spoken to organizations such as ASPE, AACE, CIQS, CFMA, and now AGC. James is a weekly blogger for Construction Today and has written articles on information technology for the Construction Executive, AGC TechBrief, Estimating Today and The Construction Economist. James received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Master of Science in Information Systems from Texas A&M University.
