WHAT: Dash After Dark is Springfield’s first 5K night time fun run, accented by fluorescent colors throughout the course. This non-timed run will start and finish at the parking lot across from Missouri State University’s Plaster Sports Complex. The run culminates with a colorful party for participants and spectators with live music from local band Luna Jamboree, food, and beer from Mother’s Brewing Company. Funds will benefit the MSU Army ROTC Bear Battalion, whose mission is to develop and train America’s future military leaders.
WHEN: The run start time is Saturday, Nov. 9, at 6 p.m., however runner packet pickup and event activities will begin at 4:30 p.m. the same day. Participants must bring photo ID to packet pickup in order to be eligible for a free beer. Entry fee is $35, and the last day to register online is Nov. 9. Registration is also available onsite Nov. 9 at 4:30 p.m.
WHERE: Packet pickup and the run will start at the parking lot across from MSU’s Plaster Sports Complex at the corner of National and Grand. Free parking is also available in that same parking lot or at Bear Park South parking garage, located at the intersection of Holland and Grand. WHY: This fun run provides a unique twist on the classic 5K, taking place after dark. Glow paint and black lights will be incorporated throughout the run to make a memorable experience for the whole family. Participants 21 and older will receive a free beer from Mother’s Brewery.
