Carrie Englert Zimmerman Receives Lifetime Achievement "Legend" Award At World Acrobatic Society Worldwide Congress
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) October 08, 2013 -- Carrie Englert Zimmerman recently received the Lifetime Achievement Award as an inductee into the "Gallery of Legends" by the World Acrobatic Society (WAS) during its 2013 Congress in Las Vegas. Zimmerman is a 1976 USA Olympic gymnast and the first American woman to score a perfect "10," as well as the co-founder of global marketing firm, The Zimmerman Agency. In the gymnastics category, WAS Legends include Olympic greats Nadia Comaneci, Dominique Dawes, Cathy Rigby, Bart Conner and Russian eight-time Olympic gold medalist, Valeri Liukin.
Zimmerman's Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes her excellence, contributions and stellar reputation in both athletics and as an entrepreneur. Not only was she the first U.S. perfect mark in gymnastics, but also the national champion in floor exercise and balance beam. Her advertising, public relations and social firm, The Zimmerman Agency, is the No. 1 ranked hospitality firm in the United States and the largest public relations company within an advertising agency in America.
Carrie Englert Zimmerman has also won professional acclaim as one of Microsoft's "Top 10 Women to Watch" and was identified as one of INC.'s "Gold Medal Millionaires." Zimmerman's business acumen is often noted as a victorious story "from the balance beam to the boardroom."
Zimmerman attributes her background as an elite athlete in the global sports arena to her entrepreneurial success.
"Not conforming to a normal business mantra – in fact, utilizing an unconventional approach – has led to my disruptive style of leadership," admits Zimmerman. "'The 'there's no I in team' mentality is simply wrong. My ‘I’ platform encourages every individual employee to be intense, intelligent, intuitive, impassioned and inspired, every day. By exploring their own unlimited potential, the team will triumph."
Zimmerman's "WOW Philosophy" is a business model based on cultivating a "sports mentality" business culture to drive excellence. Zimmerman has shared her "WOW" thinking in presentations from Egypt, Singapore and Russia to Indonesia, Great Britain and Costa Rica.
The Zimmerman Agency, co-founded with husband, Curtis Zimmerman, is based in Tallahassee, Fla. and has 175 employees with annual billings of $165 million. It boasts platinum global brands such as The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Hard Rock Hotels, Firehouse Subs, Party City, Aruba, The Islands of The Bahamas, Nature's Own, Homes.com, Cooper Tires and Pilot Pen.
Zimmerman joins other WAS Lifetime Achievement Award winners such as George Nissen, creator of the trampoline and founder of Nissen Gymnastics Equipment; Bob Fenner, founder of Gym Master and holder of more than 50 U.S. patents; and Dr. Gerald George, renowned author in the biomechanics of sport.
The World Acrobatics Society recognizes excellence in multiple acrobatic disciplines including gymnastics, diving, extreme sports and entertainment performers (such as movie stunt people and Cirque du Soleil artists).
