Taco Bueno, a 178-unit Dallas, Texas based fast casual Mexican restaurant chain, has completed a project with Proxomo Software to enhance their store processes and increase efficiencies through the use of an iPad based mobile solution. The new mobile application, developed for use by Taco Bueno store managers, required a year of development, testing and fine-tuning in the field. Taco Bueno can now better track food, safety, and training compliance and deliver real time store analytics to help make more timely and insightful operational and inventory decisions.

The “Bueno Way” gives general managers the ability to run their respective stores via the iPad. The mobile solution allows for managers to conduct readiness reports, store audits, incident reports, food temperature compliance and training in a roles-based environment. The solution also includes a web console that allows an administrator to manage users, track and monitor responses from the field, and identify issues at the store level.

“This new mobile solution allows our general managers to actually run the store via an iPad. It’s very much like the old walk-through sheets and checklists, but instead of paper and pencil they are doing it on an iPad. With this application they are able to photograph product and share information between shifts,” said Edward M. Lambert, CEO, Taco Bueno. Lambert added that the iPad, with access from anywhere in the store, also contains all the build sheets, training videos, walk sheets, between-shift communications, food-preparation timetable and tools to alert headquarters about maintenance issues.

Rob Backus, Chief Technology Officer at Proxomo Software comments: “We are excited that an industry that has relied so heavily on manual processes to build their business is embracing cutting edge technologies that will allow them to focus on what they do best - run their business and provide a quality product and service to their customers.”

The new mobile application has already been implemented in Taco Bueno’s stores and represents a key collaboration between Taco Bueno and Proxomo and part of a larger initiative to develop mobile app technologies for store and site processes.

Proxomo Software continues to focus efforts and invest in creating cutting edge mobile apps for key consumer-oriented industries.
