Showcasing storage that improves development life cycle, reliability, and replication.

Silicon Mechanics, Inc. announces that it is participating in the Gartner Symposium/ITxpo 2013, which takes place October 6-10, 2013, in Orlando, Florida. Come see Silicon Mechanics, in partnership with Seagate and Nexenta, as they highlight their software-defined storage products, which help “future-proof” customers’ investment in storage infrastructure.

Steve Scherer, Silicon Mechanics solutions sales manager, will participate in Unleashing the Value of Data to Accelerate Enterprise Growth, a presentation showcasing recent work deploying a storage system for ESRG, a data analysis and remote monitoring technology firm.

The zStax unified storage appliance from Silicon Mechanics, an enterprise-level software-defined storage platform based on open-source ZFS technology and powered by NexentaStor, has the flexibility and portability to support the company’s development life cycle and the reliability and replication to support business continuity. ESRG’s solution features ultra-fast and ultra-reliable Seagate 600 Pro SSD and 1200 SSD for write cache.

“Seagate’s Cloud Builder Alliance is an industry leading initiative focused on building customized solutions that provide flexible, scalable sever and storage solutions for the Cloud. As a Cloud Builder Alliance partner, Silicon Mechanics is participating in Seagate’s mission to drive innovation through the storage ecosystem,” said Jeff Burke, Seagate’s vice president of strategic marketing and research. “We are proud to be partnering with hardware and software leaders to generate value through real business solutions like those developed by Silicon Mechanics.”

Mr. Scherer will discuss how zStax can be easily scaled as ESRG’s budget and performance demand requires and how adding a zStax appliance will support its growing software as a service (SaaS) business requirements. On hand at the presentation will be ESRG IT Manager John Schleigh, who will discuss how the storage solution allows ESRG to capture state of the art technology at the best price performance ratio while not discarding any previous investments.

Mr. Scherer will also be available at the Seagate booth (#302) to answer questions about Silicon Mechanics’ storage offerings and show how Silicon Mechanics customers can assure future purchasing flexibility with the newest technology.
