Give these kids a Christmas to Remember.
Houston, Tx (PRWEB) October 08, 2013
They are heroes. They fight for this nations freedoms and unfortunately, as is the nature of war, many come home wounded over 50,000 to date. Injury in war can involve extensive rehabilitation and puts a tremendous stress on families. With the focus on helping the injured soldier heal, families deal with emotional and financial strain.
Purple Santa was started 3 years ago to make sure that the children of these Wounded Soldiers are given a Christmas to remember. The goal of Purple Santa is to make sure that these special kids have toys for Christmas. Northwest Dodge in Houston, Wheelers for the Wounded and the Military Order of the Purple Heart will once again team up for the 3rd Annual Purple Santa Toy Drive. This year's event will be larger than previous years because of the large number of wounded soldiers on bases.
The Purple Santa Toy Drive will be on October 20th from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Northwest Dodge. A full, fun filled day is planned. Bounce Houses and a Halloween costume contest for the kids complete with candy in a Trunk or Treat. There will be games and an off road vehicle Show and Shine car show that will be judged by the Boyscouts and trophies awarded in different classes. A raffle will be held toward the end of the day with big screen TVss, iPads, iPods, Gift Certificates and more. The public is encouraged to come out and bring toys for children ages 3months to 16 years old and enjoy this full day of fun.
