WHV Investment Management Launches Small Cap Value Fund
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) October 08, 2013 -- WHV Investment Management (“WHV”) announced the opening of the WHV/Seizert Small Cap Value Equity Fund (Class I: WVSIX; Class C: WVSCX; Class A: WVSAX), which will be managed through a sub-advisory agreement with Seizert Capital Partners (“Seizert”), an equity asset manager with decades of value investing experience and a broad base of institutional clients.
The mutual fund and new relationship with Seizert are the result of WHV’s focus on building a platform of high-quality boutique asset managers that provide differentiated investment options for clients. WHV’s goal is to expand its product platform through new partnerships and strategic acquisitions.
“The WHV/Seizert Small Cap Value Equity Fund increases our small cap equity investment capabilities with a premier sub-advisory partner that offers an institutional-quality, value-centric investment process and strong performance record,” said WHV Chief Executive Officer Andrew Turner, Ph.D. “We share and appreciate the Seizert team’s client focus and commitment to product quality.”
Seizert manages with a value-oriented approach that uncovers misunderstood or neglected small cap stocks whose prices do not reflect their underlying strength and opportunity. Utilizing a team approach, Seizert conducts bottom-up research through quantitative screening and fundamental analysis. The Fund’s portfolio invests in 50-70 companies that Seizert believes are undervalued relative to their growth, cash flow, earnings and/or underlying assets.
The fund is sub-advised by Gerald L. Seizert, CFA, CIC, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Seizert, and Portfolio Managers Thomas P. Kenny, CFA, and Andrew M. Jones.
“We are pleased to apply our extensive institutional investment experience and proven process toward discovering undervalued companies for the WHV/Seizert Small Cap Value Equity Fund,” said Gerald Seizert. “Our process is guided by a philosophy that market inefficiencies and emotion can cause significant undervaluation, and we invest in companies that we believe are trading at a substantial discount to their estimated intrinsic value.”
