PetsPage and its creator and CEO, Karen Bostick were featured last week in a Health Link segment for Boise, Idaho’s KBOI CBS 2 News. The news story focuses on Bostick’s mission of increasing pet owner awareness of veterinary specialty medicine, which can quite literally save pets’ lives and her social pet community, PetsPage.com. The segment was produced and reported by KBOI 2 News lead anchor Natalie Hurst, an avid pet lover herself. Watch the KBOI 2 News Story on Karen Bostick and PetsPage.
Hurst reports, “If your pet faced a life-or-death situation and needed expert medical advice, would you know who to consult? Some pet owners wait until it's too late because they don't realize veterinary specialists, like internists or neurosurgeons, exist. But now, it doesn't have to get to that point because one Boise woman is hoping to change that.
Karen Bostick is reaching out to tens of thousands of other pet owners - through a multi-platform, online awareness program that includes social media. The Internet page is called "PetsPage.com" You'll find areas for meet-ups, pet products, pet advice and more. Pet owners can also set up pages for their social pets…This is a very personal mission for Karen, because four years ago, her Maltipoo named Tinks almost died from an auto-immune disease. Karen says Tinks was nearing death and it wasn't until she learned about specialist care, such as WestVet in Garden City, that Tinks' life could be saved.”
PetsPage.com launched on July 15, 2013 and Bostick has been very successful in getting her message out through her vast and growing social media network as well as traditional media sources. Bostick will appear later this month on "The Pet Show with Dr. Katy" airing on Washington DC's News Channel 8 and many other upcoming local and national media appearances. Additionally, Outlook television will feature Bostick and PetsPage in a national public television documentary, narrated by Academy Award winning actor, Sir Ben Kingsley that will begin airing in early 2014.
“I would like to thank Natalie [Hurst] for reporting and airing this important story. Natalie was terrific to work with and I appreciate her interest in this story and her understanding of our mission to increase pet owner awareness of veterinary specialty medicine, which can quite literally save pets’ lives through advanced veterinary care. I feel it is my job to educate pet owners on how to become their pet’s best advocate when it comes to the health of their beloved family pets. I am excited to continue spreading my message about the life-saving potential of veterinary specialty medicine to pet owners everywhere through social media and traditional media outlets. said Bostick.
PetsPage.com is a brand new social pet community that its Founder and CEO, Karen Bostick calls, “A Place for the Social Pet.” PetsPage.com has a primary mission of increasing pet owner awareness of veterinary specialty medicine, which can quite literally save pets’ lives through advanced veterinary care by creating an engaging social pet community platform to connect pet lovers with each other as well as pet professionals and pet products in a fun, friendly and interactive way. "I’ve really had fun creating new ways to incorporate more social features to attract pet owners to this important information," said Bostick.
Tinks’ Story and Karen’s mission has struck a chord with pet lovers around the world. During the development process of PetsPage.com, Bostick created several Facebook pages to share Tinks’ Story and his adventures. The response has been overwhelming to say the least. Social media users and pet lovers all over the world not only embraced Tinks, they fell in love with him.
