DeviceFidelity’s CredenSE MicroSD NFC Product Receives Global Visa Approval
Richardson, TX (PRWEB) October 08, 2013 -- DeviceFidelity, Inc., a leader in mobile payment solutions, announces that its path breaking CredenSE NFC microSD solution has received a global letter of compliance for Visa payWave mobile payments. This makes the solution applicable to more than 2 Billion existing devices and a large majority of upcoming models worldwide and creates the most open and versatile NFC solution on the market.
DeviceFidelity CredenSE microSD combines an EMV-approved secure element with unique RF amplification and 3D NFC antenna technology, offering NFC communication performance that is superior to SIM-based and embedded NFC phones. In tests performed by DeviceFidelity using commercial contactless payment readers, handsets such as Galaxy S3, Galaxy S4 and other popular devices, when equipped with the CredenSE microSD perform at the same read range to the equivalent SIM enabled configuration, when the phone is held flat against the reader. However, the CredenSE enabled configuration operates when the phone is held in 45 degree, 90 degree and multiple other orientations against the reader where SIM-based handsets may fail, improving the overall user experience. In addition, phones equipped with CredenSE microSD still perform well if the user installs a wireless charging or extended battery backpack on the phone while the SIM / embedded NFC performance is blocked by such accessories.
The CredenSE microSD provides the most open Secure Element platform for NFC as it can be controlled, managed and issued by any institution (banks, telecom operators, enterprises, mobile wallet providers, universities, retailer or others), and works with both non-NFC as well as NFC devices. The applications for the solution are endless, spanning from mobile wallets and payments, mobile security, personal identity verification and data encryption to contactless transactions for physical and logical access and mass transit. The access to the secure element provided by the platform are designed to be highly secure and easily integrated into applications through the DeviceFidelity API without need for additional drivers or special modifications to the device. The solution is also compatible with EMV bureau, in-branch and Over the Air Remote TSM issuance processes being deployed in the industry.
“DeviceFidelity has always pushed the envelope when it comes to innovation and product capabilities and receiving a global letter of compliance from Visa is a major milestone for us,” said CEO Deepak Jain. “We are proud to become the first company to truly offer a global NFC solution that works on pretty much every existing and upcoming device out there.”
The solution has further been tested by DeviceFidelity to work with wearable electronic devices such as mp3 players, fitness trackers, smart watches and smart-eyeglasses, as long as they have a microSD slot on it. The CredenSE microSD can work as an extension of smartphone based apps connected to wearable electronics, moving the act of making a transaction away from the handset, to any kind of wearable electronic the user prefers to use.
Visa is the first payment network to approve CredenSE. Similar approvals from other payment networks are expected in the near future. DeviceFidelity also offers an array of iPhone NFC accessories that can also be used with the CredenSE NFC microSD.
DeviceFidelity will be at Money2020 in Las Vegas this week demonstrating the CredenSE solution, and parties interested in learning more are invited to visit the booth. There will also be a press briefing scheduled for 3:00 pm in the Media Room at Money2020, where Deepak Jain, CEO and Amitaabh Malhotra, COO will be presenting.
