Events DC Names Misty Johnson Oratokhai as New Chief People Officer
Washington, DC (PRWEB) October 08, 2013 -- Events DC, the official convention and sports authority for the District of Columbia, announced today that Misty Johnson Oratokhai has joined the organization as the new Chief People Officer. Previously, Ms. Oratokhai served as senior vice president and chief people officer at Dimensions Healthcare System, a regional not-for-profit healthcare services provider.
Ms. Oratokhai brings more than 12 years of extensive human resources management experience and will lead Event DC’s Human Resources team to support the growth and success of employees through a focus on personal development, career progression, talent acquisition, business advice supporting leadership and organizational performance.

A priority for Ms. Oratokhai will be a focus on innovative recruitment programs and employee-engagement initiatives as well as the development of new employee evaluation tools.

An expert in leadership, talent and organization culture and change, Ms. Oratokhai has led past initiatives including in-house recruitment programs, employee-engagement and a robust training curriculum focused on employee safety and management skills. Ms. Oratokhai also has a solid background with unions, including previous employment for AMTRAK and the D.C. Office of Labor Relations and Collective Bargaining.
Ms. Oratokhai holds a J.D. from the Columbus School of Law at the Catholic University of America and a B.A. in political science from the University of the District of Columbia.
