Public Information Officer Training Hosted by Fort Wright Police Department

The first day of the training focuses on the highly competitive media environment in which emergency departments operate. Trainers will prepare spokesperson(s) to face the difficult and challenging tasks of successfully communicating key messages through a media landscape that thrives on drama, controversy, and negative news.
During the second day of the training, Trainers provide a foundation on the role of crisis communication in a well-planned life-cycle approach to crisis management. This part of the training is designed to help departments make improvements in integrating crisis communication into crisis planning, crisis response, and post-crisis assessment capabilities.
