CSP Today announces site visit to Plataforma Solar of Almeria & CTAER in November
London - UK (PRWEB UK) 14 October 2013 -- On 14th November, attendees can see the latest innovations in CSP up close, and will be shown around the facility by Eduardo Zarza, Head of the CSP Research Unit at PSA.
The research and development efforts that will be showcased during the tour include the variable geometry experimental solar facility for central receiver systems from CTAER. This new concept, by Dr. Valeriano Ruiz, is based on a mobile solar power tower technology, which rotates on its axis. This tower is surrounded by heliostats that move along lines around the tower, whilst maintaining their radial distance.
Brandon Páramo, the organizer of CSP Today Enhanced Plant Engineering, explained that “visiting PSA is a great opportunity for international delegates to question, debate and interact with leading researchers, as well as learn more about the technologies that will drive down CSP costs for years to come”.
