Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church to Show Documentary Film, Two Who Dared
Houston, TX (PRWEB) October 14, 2013 -- Two Who Dared: The Sharps’ War tells this remarkable story of courage, documenting the lives of Reverend Waitstill Sharp and his wife Martha. The documentary is told from the point of view of Martha and Waitstill, drawing on their recorded interviews, letters, unpublished memoirs and interviews with children rescued by the Sharps'.
A film that was ten years in the making, Two Who Dared is now being released through a grassroots effort at churches, synagogues and theaters across the country and worldwide. We are excited to announce that the film will play Saturday, October 19th the Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church as part of the Adult Religious Education Committee's Film Series, in connection with the Unitarian Universalist History discussion series.
The film showing starts at 6:30pm at the Emerson Unitarian Universalist Church which is located at 1900 Bering Drive, Houston, TX, 77057. Artemis Joukowsky, Director and grandson of the Sharps, is proud to present this remarkable story of courage, documenting the lives of Reverend Waitstill Sharp and his wife Martha. Told from their personal point of view, the film draws on their recorded interviews, letters and unpublished memoirs, and also includes interviews with children rescued and noted scholars.
