i90 Tablet Glasses are a new way to enjoy your iPad, iPhone, or any portable electronic device without the pain and discomfort that comes with head-forward posture, or “Tech-Neck.” This new gadget, developed by Matt Franklin, a frequent traveler and self-described "gear head," promises to make travel more comfortable by enabling tablet, smartphone and e-readers to use their devices while keeping their head up and neck straight.
“Since I started watching movies on my iPhone and iPad in flight, I had neck pain and headaches from having my head forward, facing down for hours on end,” explained Franklin. “The idea of combining a periscope with eyeglasses led me to the development of the i90 Tablet Glasses, and they work great for watching videos, gaming or reading.”
Frequent travelers and rail commuters are often the early adopters of technology gadgetry, with examples being tablet computers, noise-cancelling headphones, and e-readers. Franklin hopes the i90 Tablet Glasses will become the next “must-have” travel gadget and he finds that they are a great conversation starter in flight.
“Every time I wear a pair of the prototype glasses on a flight, at least two or three people ask me about the glasses, how they work, and where they can get a pair,” said Franklin. “For the last six months I’ve been responding, ‘look for us on Kickstarter-- we’re launching this fall.’”
i90 Tablet Glasses are constructed with high-quality aluminum and are available in eight colors. They are wide enough to fit over most reading glasses, and the bendable temple pieces enable a customized fit for people of all ages and sizes.
i90 Tablet Glasses are currently on Kickstarter and the campaign runs through November 15th. Supporters of the project can get a pair as early as December 2013.
