Dr. Guido Cuba of the award-winning UK dental implants centre Brighton Implant Clinic recently attended the second session of “Current Concepts in American Dentistry” at New York University’s College of Dentistry in the U.S. This session, “Advances in Clinical Aesthetics and Oral Rehabilitation”, took place from 30 September to 4 October 2013. This customised educational opportunity was intended to give participants in-depth knowledge of best, up-to-date practices for maximising restoration of a patient’s oral function, appearance, health, aesthetic considerations, and more with dental implants. Dr. Cuba will attend four more sessions before overall program completion.

Originally a native of Peru, Dr. Cuba has an established track record already as a highly skilled dental professional. He graduated in 1995 as a dentist at the National University of Rosario-Argentina. Dr. Cuba holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Oral Rehabilitation (2003), Masters in Endodontics (2004), and Postgraduate Clinic in Implantology-Prosthesis from the University of Barcelona (2009). He also worked as an Assistant Professor in the Masters of Endodontics program while at the University of Barcelona from 2005 to 2008.

Established in 1981, the university’s “Current Concepts in American Dentistry” is regarded as a leading short-term continuing instruction series in current dentistry topics for international audiences. Program content is determined with the program participants’ instruction needs in mind in coordination with the College of Dentistry’s Assistant Dean for Continuing Education. Instruction is personal and customised to each individual participant’s needs, as only 20-50 people participate per session.

“Current Concepts in American Dentistry” now has over 3,000 graduates from 26 countries across the globe. Series participants are required to complete a number of demanding criteria before being deemed fit for program graduation. These include active participation in the program’s lecture, laboratory session, and clinical observation components, as well as an in-depth written topic report and completion of two (2) clinical cases in participants’ own private practices.

“Dr. Cuba is a great example of our whole team’s complete commitment to high-quality continuing education and delivery of the highest quality health care to each of our patients,” says Dr. Bruno Silva, Principal Dentist at Brighton Implant Clinic. “It is through comprehensive knowledge of current best practices in implant dentistry that we give our patients the best dental care experience possible with first-rate professionalism and effectiveness.”
