Toronto, Canada (PRWEB) October 10, 2013
Toronto-based EmployTouch Inc., today announced that it has been acquired by Ultimate Software. EmployTouch designed TouchBase – an innovative, tablet-based solution for time and labor data collection, employee self-service, and collaboration. The TouchBase solution was named one of the “Awesome New Technologies for HR” at the HR Technology Conference & Exposition in October 2012. Ultimate will be marketing the TouchBase solution as “UltiPro TouchBase” beginning in October 2013 as a timeclock device option to customers who use Ultimate’s HCM and workforce management solutions.
“More than 50% of employees in the U.S. are hourly, without continuous access to a computer at work,” said Adam Rogers, chief technology officer for Ultimate Software. “Adding UltiPro TouchBase to our HCM suite aligns perfectly Ultimate’s mission to simplify people’s work lives with comprehensive solutions — not just for the HR/payroll professionals, but for every employee of the organization. We’re excited to be able to offer our customers a cutting-edge solution to serve as the point-of-time entry for hourly workers—and also allows our customers to give their hourly employees kiosk-based access to critical HR, payroll, and company information from an easy-to-use touchscreen device.”
“We’re absolutely delighted to join Ultimate Software,” said Martin Hartshorne, CEO of EmployTouch. “Ultimate’s commitment to delivering HCM solutions that put people first, the approach to working with customers as partners for life, and the company’s reputation in the industry made this partnership an ideal match for us and our customers.”
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
EmployTouch was founded in 2011 by a team of industry veterans from Workbrain, LinkedIn, and Google and was recently named one of Canada’s Top 20 Most Innovative companies by Canadian Innovation Exchange (CIX). http://www.employtouch.com
