SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust Application Deadline Passes
Hamilton, New Zealand (PRWEB) October 11, 2013 -- SKYCITY Hamilton officials have announced the passing of the deadline to apply for funds from the SKYCITY Hamilton Trust Fund. The Trust Fund began accepting applications for grants from agencies in the greater Waikato area on September 6th, 2013. The deadline for submitting an application for a grant was 5pm on September 27th, 2013.
The Trust was established as a way to give back to the Hamilton community for its continued support of SKYCITY's ventures in the area. The funds awarded by the Trust are meant to help local agencies enhance the services they provide within the community and to help them cover the costs of renovations and expansions.
Last year’s funding round awarded a grant of $8,000 to Stage Challenge Foundation for lighting and sound costs and another grant of $10,000 to Coastguard Tauranga for additional radio equipment in its multi-purpose incident room.
SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust Chairperson Michael Cox stated that the Trust tries to award funds to agencies that improve the well-being of the community through a general purpose or specific projects. However, all types of community agencies are encouraged to apply for the yearly grants.
"We encourage applications from a range of organizations that contribute to our vibrant community, both in Hamilton and in the wider Waikato region," said Mr. Cox.
General Manager SKYCITY Hamilton Tessa Grant said SKYCITY is honored to play such an integral role in the Waikato community as a significant employer, ratepayer, entertainment provider and a contributor through the SKYCITY Hamilton Community Trust.
"We have seen many important local projects come to fruition thanks to funding from the Trust, which is great for the local community. SKYCITY is pleased to be playing our part in giving back to various organizations across the Waikato who significantly contribute to the well-being of our communities," said Ms. Grant.
