Techweek New York Names Competitors for Startup LAUNCH Competition

30 startups will compete for $100,000 in cash and prizes at Techweek New York on Oct. 17, 2013.

After seeing great success in Chicago and Los Angeles, we’re excited to bring Techweek’s startup LAUNCH competition to New York.

Techweek New York, the conference dedicated to showcasing the innovation ecosystem in New York City and along the east coast, announced today the 30 companies chosen to compete in the conference’s startup LAUNCH competition.

For the LAUNCH competition, 30 startups will demo their products and services to Techweek New York attendees, potential investors and judges. After a round of audience voting, five companies will be selected to pitch on stage to a panel of expert judges comprised of venture capitalists and industry innovators. The winning startup will receive $100,000 in cash and prizes.

“After seeing great success in Chicago and Los Angeles, we’re excited to bring Techweek’s startup LAUNCH competition to New York,” said Sam Kennedy, Techweek Executive Director. “Startups are an important part of our nation’s tech ecosystem and an integral element of our conference. Each of these 30 companies drives innovation in their own right, and together they will make for a can’t-miss competition.”

Having previously hosted events in Chicago and Los Angeles, this is Techweek’s first conference in New York. Featuring highlights such as the Techweek100, speaker sessions and a tech-fashion runway show, Techweek New York kicks off Oct. 17 at 82Mercer in Manhattan.
