Williamsport PA Greyhound Bus Crash

The three previous crashes were caused by Greyhound bus drivers who allegedly passed out or fell asleep behind the wheel. We'll be very interested to learn why this bus driver slammed into the rear of a truck in the middle of the night.

CNN reported two days ago that over forty Greyhound passengers were injured, and one killed, due to a Greyhound bus crash that occurred at about 1:30 am, on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. This crash occurred on Route 80 near Williamsport, PA, when a Greyhound bus full of passengers struck the rear of a tractor trailer truck.

Ostroff Injury Law Managing Partner Jon Ostroff, of Plymouth Meeting, PA, represents many passengers who were injured in each of the previous Greyhound crashes that have already occurred in 2013. "It's hard to believe that this is now the fourth time this year that a Greyhound bus full of passengers was involved in yet another high speed interstate collision,” Ostroff said, speaking of yesterday's crash. “The three previous highway crashes all occurred either because Greyhound bus drivers crashed into the rear of a large truck in front of them or because the driver passed out. We'll be very interested to learn why this Greyhound bus driver slammed into the rear of a truck in the middle of the night. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims of yet another tragic Greyhound bus crash."

Ostroff's law firm has represented passengers and filed lawsuits against Greyhound Bus Lines in the past, alleging that the Greyhound bus driver fell asleep, leading to a crash and several injured passengers.(1)

On January 18, 2013, Erie TV News reported that many passengers were injured shortly after sunrise, at 7:08 am, when a Greyhound Bus driver crashed into the rear of a tractor trailer on Interstate 79, near Erie, PA.

On August 1, 2013, CBS Chicago reported that many Greyhound passengers were injured when a Greyhound bus driver crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer on Interstate 94, near Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Just 26 days before this Williamsport area Greyhound crash, on September 14, 2013, USA Today reported that at 3:50 am, many of the 51 passengers filling a Greyhound bus were injured on Interstate 75, near Cincinnati, OH. Ostroff points out: "According to CBS Detroit in a story published on September 23, 2013, the driver of this bus passed out and veered off of the highway, rolling the Greyhound bus over off of the highway, where it ended up in a rural cornfield off the highway."
