Surena Rugs in Atlanta Showcases Newly Acquired Antique Handmade Rugs
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 15, 2013 -- Surena Rugs, one of Atlanta's most respected rug dealers, has just expanded its impressive collection of museum quality antique handmade rugs that are the highest examples of the art of rug-making. Surena has been acquiring, selling, appraising, restoring and cleaning rare handmade area rugs for several decades now, but these new additions have antique rug connoisseurs buzzing.
Visitors to their spacious showroom on Miami Circle, NE, were dazzled by the array of beautiful carpets in every size and shape. Moe Rabbani, the owner, pointed out one especially unusual collector’s item: a Havaee Bidjar, one of the so called “Iron Rugs of Persia,” so referred to because of their amazing durability. This one dates back to the late 19th century and the colors are still magically vibrant (see photo).
“It is from the Kurdish state in western Iran, now known as Kurdistan,” explains Mr. Rabbani. “This piece is hand-knotted with 100% best quality wool, which comes from sheep raised in the high elevations of the western mountains. It measures 12x18 feet and has a very unique design in all-vegetable dyed wool.”
Surena Rugs prides itself on its remarkable collection of one-of-a-kind antique and semi-antique area rugs, but also on its attention to its customers’ needs. “A long time ago my father told me that if you give your clients a good product at a fair price and a service that is second to none they stay with you and they'll be your best advertisers,” says Mr. Rabbani. “This has been the philosophy I have tried to follow all the these years. We deal in timeless treasures, and we have an ongoing commitment to excellence.”
Surena Rugs is currently upgrading its website, and rug shoppers -- whether they be from the Atlanta area or elsewhere -- can see many of these timeless treasures there.
