Dartmouth College Moves Towards Streamlined Reporting for Stakeholders
Ft. Lauderdale, FL (PRWEB) October 11, 2013 -- e-Builder, the pioneer in fully integrated, cloud-based construction program management software, announced today that Dartmouth College in New Hampshire has adopted e-Builder Enterprise™ to manage the prestigious campus’ capital construction program. The Ivy League school was looking to streamline its processes and provide consistent project reporting to stakeholders, including the Board of Trustees, College Deans and College Administrators.
Prior to implementing e-Builder Enterprise, Dartmouth College was using a combination of spreadsheets, PowerPoint’s and Word documents to provide reporting to project stakeholders. With data residing on individual computers, servers and paper, the process of compiling and assembling the information proved difficult and time consuming. Often times the team would burn the midnight oil to get reports finished. “We were never certain at the end of a project if we had compiled all of the data,” said Matthew Purcell, PE, F.NSPE, Director of the Office of Project Management. Additionally, the finance team was looking to become more hands-on at specific points of a project. The team needed to be able to readily see cash flows and make decisions on different financing structures.
With the need for more consistent, up-to-date and easy to interpret reports, Purcell’s team moved forward with procuring construction program management software. Dartmouth’s construction departments are broken into a number of groups, including the main Project Management group, the Architectural Services group and the Maintenance group, all who will be using e-Builder Enterprise. “We’re excited to have easier, faster and consistent reporting,” says Purcell. “We’ll have better overall organization of our projects and access to documentation.”
“The fact that e-Builder’s project information management system is an owner-centric tool is very important to us,” stated Purcell. “Also, the ease-of-use, flexibility and ability for non-system users to be able to use the system was equally as vital in our selection criteria.” The college plans to roll out many other features of the software including integration with their other systems, Oracle Financials, Famis, centerstone space management software and their internal database. Ron Antevy, President & CEO of e-Builder, added, “we’re wholeheartedly excited to be able to provide a solution to the Dartmouth College team to help them further provide a great education to some of the brightest minds in the country.”
