Algonquin, IL (PRWEB) October 10, 2013 -- Beginning Fri., Oct. 25 at 7 pm, Porter defines and refines Style, leaving students with a style file and room plan. She explores how to impact the tone of a room in Color & Accessorize on Saturday from 9-11 am. The workshop concludes Saturday afternoon with Holiday Decorating (fall through Christmas) from 1-3 pm. Separately, classes cost $48, or buy two workshops and get the third class free for $96. Classes will be held at Country Inn & Suites in Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Styling, or re-purposing items already owned, appeals to cost-conscious homeowners who wish to create a new and cohesive look at home. Home staging prepares a house to be listed on the real estate market by clearing clutter and highlighting spaces that enhance the home’s marketability to buyers.

According to RE/MAX, the Chicago metropolitan real estate market sold 29 percent more homes from April to September, 2013, while median home prices rose 13 percent compared to the same period last year. Homes that were professionally staged for selling helped attract buyers and boost sales.

As a Master Trainer, Porter specializes in training and certifying professionals to start a small business or simply remove the need to hire professional decorators.
