Auto Part Manufacturer Gets an Epoxy Floor Coating Do-over by Garon Products Inc.
Wall, NJ (PRWEB) October 11, 2013 -- An automotive parts manufacturer needed their production floors repaired with an epoxy floor coating at its 106,000-square-foot industrial facility.
The 45-year-old slab had multiple applications of epoxy on it, but the coating was peeling. Underneath, cracks and deep voids marred the concrete as well.
Garon Products was retained as the manufacturer for concrete and floor coating products. All of the aisle ways had to be coated and line-striped for safety purposes.
To complicate the project, everything had to be done in a six-day span. Workers could not interrupt operations, and shipping and receiving lanes had to be open during the course of the repairs.
In this case, Garon specified odor-free floor coating materials and made sure that surface preparation equipment did not emit any dust to avoid affecting the owner’s production machines.
Garon’s full-service flooring installation was chosen by the facility to ensure the project stayed on schedule, provided enough manpower and met their budget limitations.
Prior to coating the floor, pourable expansion joint filler [Joint Guard™] and epoxy crack & divot repair [Poxypaste™] were applied to fill in joints and patch small defects on the surface. Next, Garon Guard™, a 100% epoxy floor coating was applied. A second coat was applied in order to attain a 30 mil thickness. Finally, a line striping paint [Tigerstripe™] was applied to the boarder of the aisles to visually guide forklift traffic through the facility.
With the proper planning, the project was completed successfully and met the client’s budget and scheduling needs. The products expertly repaired the floor and equipped it to thrive under harsh industrial conditions.
